Bodegueros for Adoption
Calling our special followers, we know the right people are here somewhere. We need help for 3 wonderful bodegueros that NOBODY wants and we are sure they will be in the shelter for many years to come. To find out why please look at their album and read about them. They desperately need help from very special adopters. Could that be you? We hope so. Bodegueros are simply wonderful dogs, fit in so easily to any home, great with children and other dogs, we and anyone who knows a bodeguero will definitely agree. Please, please take just a few moments to find out more about these three. Thank you for caring.
Following Joya's adoption these 2 are eagerly awaiting a new home
We need very some very special adopters for these 2 very special bodegueros.
Truco (male) approx DOB Feb 2010 has been in the shetler since Feb 2014 with not a single enquiry. He is a handsome lad, "a good wee boy" well adjusted, good on a lead, with other dogs and people.
Flaca (female) approx DOB September 2010, arrived Feb 2013 with her 3 pups who have long since been adopted. Flaca is a shy little girl a lovely nature, good with other dogs, frequently seen just sitting with her friend Truco.
So why are these 2 needing special attention? Well...
1. All of them have leishmaniasis (a mediterannean disease carried by the sandfly). Each of them have received the appropriate medication to bring the disease under control and now only take a daily tablet (very cheap and readily available in the UK) called Allopurinol to keep it in check. (We can provide much more information and support regarding this, please just ask).
2. They are bodegueros, they are not desireable amongst Spanish people as they are considered one of the lowly discardable breeds - used and abused, cast off in their thousands. Neither of these 2 can travel to Switzerland where some of their friends go as they have cropped tails (illegal in Switzerland) so they are totally dependent on us to find them homes. They are genuine Nobody Wants Me dogs.
3. People who do not know the breed think of them as 'long legged jack russels' - really the only similarity is their colour. They are quiet, calm, affectionate, loyal, very loving and EASY dogs to have. Each of our bodeguero adopters adores them.
So, you can see that these two have everything against them and without your help we fully expect to see them in the shelter for many more years to come. Will you help them please, consider adoption or foster and most definitely share for them. If you want to see how sweet these little ones are, have a look at this very short video of them about to get their food...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUJ9BBAYTH0
