Nestle is a perfect example of a 'nobody wants me' dog, he has been overlooked in his shelter in Spain for 4 years now. Why? Because he is a Podenco cross - a lowly breed in the eyes of Spanish culture, was probably owned by a hunter and discarded as many thousands are. During his time with the hunter he had his tail and ears 'cropped' and as you can see by the shape of his ears this must have been an awful experience for him.
In spite of his background, Nestle is the most friendly, cheerful boy who loves attention and to play with everybody. He loves human company, however, he is submissive and easily frightened so needs gentle and positive handling when outside his comfort zone. Due to the cropping of his ears and tail, this boy cannot go to Switzerland, where such practices are illegal, nor is he likely to get any opportunity for adoption in Spain because of his breed.
So, our solution for him - to sponsor his journey to the UK where he will be fostered, have the chance to meet people who will see him for the amazing boy that he is, fall in love with him and adopt him. Will you help to give him his chance? Click on his picture to find out more about Nestle.

Little Brando needs adoption or sponsorship to help him to get to the UK - click on his picture to see more photos

Brando is only little, this sweet little 5 year old dog was brought into the shelter two years ago with his wife and 3 children. His wife and two of the children were adopted soon after, but poor Brando and his son Gary were left a lot longer. Gary was adopted in Switzerland earlier this year and now Brando is the only one of his family left looking for his forever home. He is in need of a good, loving home where he can get lots of attention and cuddles - he loves people and other dogs, he loves to play and is a real wee character. He misses his boy Gary and it would be lovely if we could give him his chance, whether by someone adopting him or by us bringing him to the UK into foster so that he can find a home that way. Please click on his picture and see more of his photos and learn more about his character - he is playful, affectionate, loves cuddles and is good both on and off the lead. He is a great wee runner - but always runs back for a cuddle with a smile on his face!
Little Brando has a full tail so he can be adopted in Spain, Switzerland or the UK.

Look at Pancho smile! A home for Pancho please! This lovely chap is about 7 years old and was found running in an industrial estate 3 years ago - he was taken to the shelter where it was found that he had eye and hip problems. He eye has been operated on and his hip doesn't bother him too much, but he can't go for hugely long walks but he does love to get out for walks, run and play. You can tell that he hasn't had a particularly good life, but we are hoping that somebody will change that for him! He can be a bit dominant with some males but is great with females and people, and when he was in foster, they said that he had very good manners. He is not brilliant with cats. Come on somebody, Pancho would make an EXCELLENT companion!! Pancho a small collie cross and is great friends with Nestle. His loyalty to his friends meant that he was the dog chosen by the volunteers to help find one of his other friends who became frightened by a loud noise when out on a walk one day and ran off - she was in hiding for two days but Pancho was crucial in helping to find her! Pancho has a full tail so can be adopted in Spain, Switzerland or the UK.

Iris, a truly lovely girl, needs adoption or sponsorship to get her to the UK - click on her picture
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/2/3/19230063/1476165.jpg)
Iris was found on the streets locally last year with one eye hanging out. The shelter operated but it was impossible to save her eye - she is still a beautiful girl though who loves everybody - at first she used to cry when she was put back in the kennel but she is a little happier now. However, she really needs a home of her own where she can be cuddled which is her favourite thing in the world! Being a Bodeguero type, she is lively and energetic and would only do well in a home that could give her nice long walks and lots of playtime. However, on recent walks she has been very calm and has settled down quite a bit so we think she would also suit a home for a retired person/couple. She is also very good around cats. Please give this lovely girl a chance. Iris has a cropped tail so cannot be adopted in Switzerland.

Lennon, rescue from living in danger on the street - click on his picture for more pictures
![Picture](/uploads/1/9/2/3/19230063/2145801.jpg)
LENNON - this lovely boy has passed all of his behaviour and health assessments and is now ready for a new home! He is a sweet, affectionate young boy who needs an understanding owner who will take time to understand him. Lennon was rescued from the streets of Sevilla where he used to sit in cafes with people and play with local children. He was considered a nuisance by some however, who called the pound which is when we stepped in and rescued him. First of all he was very scared and shut down if you asked him to do anything - however, with patience and understanding, he has learned that life away from the streets is not such a bad thing. He will now walk on an extender lead or beside you without a lead, and is full of life and just wants lots of cuddles all the time. For new things, he does need to be taught slowly so he would need an owner who is patient and understands dog behaviour but this dog is really just a lovely, genuine boy. He is a bit dominant with some male dogs but gets on very well with females. Though he loves children, we would prefer a low-activity home so that he doesn't get stressed by things that he doesn't understand. Please consider Lennon as a member of your family!
