Felix - will soon be fostered in Switzerland, looking for his forever home
Felix had a very sorry start in life. He was born early in 2010 and lived with his mum in the streets until his mum was killed in an accident on the road. People brought him to a vet, wanting him to be put to sleep as they didn't want Felix to meet the same end as his mother.
As he was such a young and helathy dog the vet refused to put him down and asked Melampo to take him into the shelter in October 2010.
Felix is overlooked in Spain because his appearance is not exceptional or cute and his breed is podenco cross which is regarded as a 'lowly' breed in Spain. However, in reality he is a lovely, quiet boy, he never causes any problems in the shelter, is very amiable if a little restrained with other dogs, he is affectionate and loves long walks in the countryside and is good with cats. He also has a special talent...Felix is a real acrobat - he is able to jump along the walls - literally!
Apart from this special talent he is essentially invisible in the shelter amongst 100 other dogs. However, he is a pretty perfect dog and he will soon have his chance to be noticed in Switzerland with his wonderful foster mum Sibylle. As you can see, he is not a happy boy in the shelter environment, soon this will change but he still needs to find a forever home.
