Golfo will be in foster in Switzerland from 19th June 2013 after spending 9 years in the shelter with his two brothers Toby and Bingo. He is now looking for his forever home in Switzerland. Can you help?
Brothers Toby, Golfo and Bingo were born in 2004 and rescued as a pups from the countryside when they were only 2 months old, they have been at the shelter ever since - yes nine years! All three are shy and quiet, but when they become more confident with people each will make wonderful companions. They remained in the shelter for nine years only because they are shy. Imagine a shelter with 110 dogs, many of them barking, most of them friendly, some big, some small, cute, not so 'cute', boisterous, cuddly, many looking for attention, all of them craving love and human attention, most of them know how to get that but there are always a few who fear it. With perhaps 100 of those dogs clambering for attention, what happens to the 10 who shy away from it? Simple, they get overlooked. No matter how wonderful these dogs are if they shy away from human attention they never give themselves the chance to be met, cuddled and loved in the way they deserve. Ultimately they miss any chance they have to be fostered and ultimately adopted. Toby, Golfo, Bingo are 3 such boys. To various degrees they shy away from human contact yet we have shown that this shyness can gradually be overcome with time, love and patience. We have already made lots of progress with Toby, and Golfo and this could certainly be continued in a very caring, quiet, loving household. The brilliant news is that through our 'nobody wants me - forgotten dogs' project Golfo will shortly be in Switzerland being fostered by Sibylle and Toby and Bingo will stay together when they travel to their new forever home in the UK!!

Golfo is the least shy of the three brothers which is why it was felt he could be brought to an experienced foster in Switzerland which then enabled us to find his two brothers forever homes together. As you can see in this picture, on probably his second ever walk, he is striding out and learning to enjoy experiences outside the security of the shelter.
After he has arrived in Switzerland on 19th June we will have more photos and first hand reports of him in foster which he will share with two other wonderful rescues and a cat!
Watch this space for Golfo's updates, in the meantime if you are interested in providing him with a forever home in Switzerland please get in touch.
