Herby Needs a home

Herby came into the shelter recently after his elderly owner became very ill and was taken into a nursing home. The family refused to take her dogs and all three were handed in. Herby's 2 siblings were both adopted locally but sadly Herby remains. At almost 8 he is at that age that will make him difficult to find a home for - he is too old for people who want a young dog yet not quite old enough for those wonderful adopters who want to give a home to a very old dog. He is very affectionate, very obedient, gets on well with other dogs and loves people. He has plenty of energy, pulls a little on the lead but this is simply pleasure at getting out of the shelter with people. He would make a wonderful companion he really would. Lets find him a home before he becomes one of those really old dogs that needs one of our very special adopters
