Nancy (with the laughin' face) (nee Nova)
Nancy is now in foster in the UK where she can meet new people and where we know someone will fall in love with her and offer her her forever home. She has now been named Nancy (with the laughin' face) from the Frank Sinatra song by her foster home because it just sums her up!
Nancy is a 13 year old medium + sized dog who arrived at a local shelter in 2004 having been found on the street in Southern Spain. She had a French microchip and her owners were contacted. Sadly, they said they were too old and didn't want her anymore – so at the shelter she stayed for 9 long years.
This gorgeous girl is very quiet, loving, obedient and has a cheerful character. She is very sweet and gentle and so has an easy relaxed relationship with other dogs. She has also been cat tested and showed no interest in the cat whatsoever. She is forthcoming and loves to get a little attention and a cuddle.
Nancy is excellent both on and off the lead. She really enjoys a walk but being old she tires easily. She also loves to play in water – when she sees a puddle she lies down in it – then you see her smile!
Having spent nine years in the shelter, she really deserves her chance to spend her later retirement in a loving home by the fire, don't you think? She is approximately 20kg, has a little trouble with her skin at the moment which is being treated - however, for an old girl of her age and having lead her life, a recent full blood profile has shown that she is remarkably healthy!
A loving family home would be perfect for her, however, because she is getting on in years and short walks are sufficient for her she would also be a perfect companion for an older or less active person who could provide love, warmth, comfort and short walks and perhaps a garden for her to potter about in.

The photos
The first 9 photos were taken a short time before Nancy travelled to the UK. The remainder were taken at the end of April 2013 a few weeks after her arrival and as you can see she has settled brilliantly. She is a very affectionate, happy, adaptable girl with so much still to offer.
