Happy Ending or rather a Happy New Beginning - Moy has found a fantastic home!
It was so wonderful to be Moy’s foster mummy, to learn how he discovers the world after being 6 years in the shelter. Do dogs realize that nobody wants them??? I do not know but I know how depressed and desperate Moy was when I visited him at the shelter. When I put my hand through the fence and he nestled his head in my hands to get closer to me and to get some affection. It was heart breaking. I saw him licking the fence and turning circles – I knew he must get out of the shelter and my vet agreed.
So Moy flew with us to Switzerland in the middle of March 2013. I was aware that Moy had been 6 years in the shelter and did not know anything. How surprised I was when he was from the first moment house broken, how touched I was when Moy realized that he had a soft bed for his own and how much he loved the walks in the forest and the fields.
I noticed how happy he is and how much he appreciates every little thing which perhaps for a “normal” dog in Switzerland is nothing special. He showed us every minute his happiness and often brought tears in my eyes. There was not one little moment that I regretted my decision to foster Moy. However, I also knew that one day I would have to say goodbye to him when we found him his forever home. I was really frightened of this moment.
To cope with this I always told myself that fostering is the only way of finding homes for these dogs. To say goodbye to Moy would mean say I could say hello to another forgotten dog and make this dog happy.
The day came where a lovely woman was interested in Moy and after having visited this new home I knew in my heart that for Moy the moment of farewell was here. YES, definitely it broke my heart and definitely I shed many tears. AND SO WHAT???? What is more important, my feelings and emotions or transforming the life of a dog? No answer needed!
Moy has found the most wonderful forever home, in the most beautiful area in the middle of beautiful meadows together with his lovely new Mummy and his most friendly Daddy and their wonderful daughter.
They realized immediatey that Moy is a very, very special dog with lots of talents.
And his biggest talent is his heart out of gold. If you hug him you will feel tenderness, love, silence and you get a lot of energy.
MOY WILL NOW BECOME A THERAPY DOG FOR MENTALLY DISABLED PERSONS!
Thank you Moy, I will always love you!
