NO ANIMAL DESERVES TO DIE IN A SHELTEROur mission is to help the animals who no-one has ever wanted to adopt. These dogs and have been 'fortunate' to end up in a no-kill shelter but have been overlooked simply because they are shy, undemanding, not 'cute' enough, too big, too old ...
Some of them will remain in the shelters without ever experiencing the love and comfort of their own forever home. We aim to change that for some of these dogs - and we can with your help. Will you help? Will you give an older dog a chance? Can you whisper to a forgotten dog that he is not forgotten, to a "nobody wants me dog" that someone does want him? BREAKING NEWS - MEET THE TEAM! OUR LATEST PROJECT IS NOW LIVE!!Having been avid rehomers of Breton Spaniels over the last fifteen years and knowing what wonderful sweet dogs they are, we decided some months ago to start a Breton rehoming programme across Europe and here it is! It will be headed up by Jo Wood and ably assisted by Emma Hedderson and Deb Read, all of whom have adopted Bretons from us and know the breed well. I can't think of 3 better people to do this, all excellent owners and committed to helping these lovely underrepresented dogs. Jennifer Willis and I will also help as necessary. We will be homing Bretons and Breton crosses, starting with the lovely Primrose who we featured earlier today and Maisie, another gorgeous ex stray dog. Please note that at the beginning, we will be focusing on Bretons who are ready to be adopted - when funds are better, we will be able to help those on the street and in municipal pounds.
We are so happy to launch this new project - please meet the volunteers below - visit our website http://www.bretonspanielrescue.org/, like our page https://www.facebook.com/Breton-Spaniel-Rescue-1494483527524777/ A huge thank you to all those who donated items for us to distribute to small shelters. We managed to bring over a collection of about 100 collars, leads and harnesses in addition to shampoos, anti parasite pipettes and other items. Today, Rosable from Pulgosas Shelter, a small shelter run by very caring Spanish volunteers, gratefully received some of these items. There is plenty left for a couple of other shelters and we will of course update when we distribute those.
